![]() There is a setting under the Speed and Duplex to set it for 1 GBPS Full Duplex. There is a Speed and Duplex setting, and mine is set to Auto Negotiation. There are a ton of settings in there, and I noticed there is an Auto disable gigabit setting (mine is on disabled). I checked the advanced settings for the Realtek gigabit ethernet adapter in the device manager and I never had changed them. The realtek ethernet adapter in this notebook reports a connection of 1 GB and I ran a bandwidth speed test and it reported 130.94 MBPS (paying for 100 MBPS). ![]() So, I just hooked up a cat 6 cable to my router and the notebook, disabled the wireless connection and opened the local area connection info in the network and sharing center. I have a HP 350 G1 business notebook and that also has a Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller. Should be reporting 1 GB, and then that opens the pipeline for more throughput. I checked for updates and it says I have the latest. My network adapter is a Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller. Unfortunately, I have no idea why your ethernet adapter is only connecting at 100 MBPS-even with a cat 6 cable. My internet speed is supposedly good to 500Mbps, but I'm only able to get about 95Mbps on my ethernet port.
